OrbitBaby.com came to us in late March with an important question, Django and Satchmo, or Magento for their new shopping cart? Having dealt with the tricky and resource intensive Magento System for several of our SEO clients, we were able to give them an honest comparison of the two systems, and the benefits of each. After seeing how cool Django was and how powerful of a solution it could be for more than just their store, they of course asked us to build them a shop that would meet their needs. 3 months and countless late nights later, ShopOrbitBaby.com is a reality.

Don’t just oooh and ahhh over the full bleed photo and sticky footer that positions itself according to the size of the photo, make sure that you check out how items are added and removed to the cart; entirely with ajax calls so that the user never has to refresh a page. Another highlight is the product filter that happens entirely on page. Reducing the number of re-loads of pages has resulted in a better user experience, and less server overhead as well. There is much, much more, and we will be detailing these as we add the ShopOrbitBaby.com site to the ‘our work’ area. :)
